Lettera al Sindaco di Staranzano Lorenzo Presot

Here is the text of my email to Mayor Lorenzo Staranzano Presot to make it aware of my problem and my neighbors on the misuse of containers for the collection of separated waste as you can see from the photos taken by me tonight .

At about the Mayor of Staranzano Presot Mr. Lorenzo.

Dear Mayor
am writing to report a problem that certainly concerns the residents of the streets and ML King Brasizza but in far different experience I think it is also common to other citizens of our town.

As you can see from the photos attached, the bucket of "green" and the bell of the glass at the my house (n ° 40 of Via Brasizza) are increasingly used in the wrong and unacceptable by users at any time discharge any wickedness in those containers.
The cause of this is in my view to be found in high traffic of residents (and not) Brasizza long way, which makes it particulary comfortable indiscriminate discharge of garbage in the bucket, and lack of control by the authorities (who I presume to be the cops).
Several times my family has had to call the technical department of the City for the removal of rubbish that besides being a visual wickedness were also smelly.
Two or three weeks ago I found myself personally having to call the police when the local station, a Sunday, I found the blue bags bearing the inscription "ASL Gorizia n ° 2", assuming, then fortunately proved unfounded, which might contain medical waste or the like.
The officer emptied the bucket of the green then you are often limited to removing the responsibility from his bin bags of rubbish left in place, without reporting the matter to the "colleague" of responsibility ..

Given this situation I would ask as well as a timely intervention for the removal of refuse currently around the box as well:

1-The removal of debris (especially dangerous shards of glass which I photographed) tutto attorno alla zona dei cassonetti

Le segnalo inoltre che dal rifacimento di via Brasizza (anni 80, first 90) that area has always been used as excellent parking by residents and their guests without obstructing the roadway, now that the deal with the debris, more and more often we see cars parked in the roadway. The solution here would be to keep a bucket near the green and the bell of the glass to take up less space.

I think that the solutions reported by me are all feasible with minimum payments and the interest of health and living standards of the community staranzanese.

Awaiting a speech and a reply would point out that this also will be posted on my blog at http://whitelog.blogspot.com/2008/06/lettera-al-sindaco-di-staranzano.html to encourage discussion between the residents and their awareness of the problem.

Where would also authorize happy to publish his response.

Sincerely, Paul
Barbana

StateoftheNet - NOW!

today are StateofteNet Udine .. I'm currently listening

Ross (renamed for the occasion "Curtis") Mayfield president and founder of Socialtext talk about collaboration and sharing online (I admit to not following very star, I hope other bloggers will do a better review of his speech). But I'm interested

back to "Curtis Mayfield " or a singer when I ignore everything except the fact that he sang "People Get Ready " a song by U2 and then shooting some live ..

"People Get Ready" describes a little 'tone of the interventions of the morning, especially those Gigi Tagliapietra where the focus was mainly to pass the message: "ok, we have the means to do so, we must now do it" .

We can apply this idea (a sort of "I care") to all fields of knowledge, in fact we have all the knowledge we derive from centuries of technique and philosophy now we must find the means to be a part (but these are easy to get), and other a spirit of responsibility (response-ability) to do our part actively in the world in which we live.

Intervention objectively when I felt a need to feel less alone in the fight against the windmills of every day .. The future is in our hands "and I got plans!" ;-)

Bug in xorg: Azureus non parte più in Ubuntu

Two days ago I installed Azureus (bittorrent client platform written in java) on my laptop with Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10.
Alright, got the program from the official repositories and immediately went to work ..

Yesterday morning (1/18/2008) from the update manager for my distro I was offered the opportunity to upgrade the X server in its core: "xorg-core." Everything ok, normal administration ..

the evening I try to log back to Azureus and not part .. after some 'speed to understand what goes wrong I get the error:

The program' SWT 'Received an X Window System error. This
Probably Reflects a bug in the program.
The error Was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 343 error_code 11 request_code 146 minor_code 5)
(Note to programmers: Normally, X errors are reported figures asynchronously;
That is, you will receive the error a while after Causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the - sync command line option to change this behavior
. You can then get a backtrace from your debugger Meaningful
if you break on the gdk_x_error () function.)

try the Ubuntu forums and I find be a common problem after upgrading xorg-core component .

So if you have had the same problem (which seems to afflict even eclipse) and do not understand why the solution is to downgrade the version of xorg that before the update.

1-Open "Synaptic Package Manager" 2-
Search for "xorg-core" and select "xserver-xorg-core"
3-Go to the top of the menu "Package-> Force Version ..."
4-Set earlier version of the " xorg-core 2:1.3.0.0. dfsg-12ubuntu8.1 ( buggy), that" xorg-core 2:1.3.0.0. dfsg-12ubuntu8 (gutsy) "(working )
5-Reboot

To avoid downgrade xorg-core, was also offered a fix but although they appear to affect significantly the operating system performance.

UPDATE-It seems to have been issued in record time two later than bugata xorg-core. The advice is to let a few days before leaving for a working version of a new (since this mistake) in any case be aware that with the above procedure You can redo the downgrade.
